IB Atelier

Our philosophy

Architecture is not a solitary discipline. We see it as a teamoriented endeavour that focuses on people and the project. Our experience shows that our success is largely based on networking and close cooperation with other architects and engineers and the people who make this success possible with their expertise, ability to cooperate and team spirit.

Numerous successful competitions and diverse architectural projects we have designed and implemented are proof of these strengths. At the same time, we are aware that resources are limited and that buildings must be designed to be durable, sustainable and economical.

In a time of dynamic change, we develop innovative solutions that master complex challenges and create future-proof architecture.

Forum

The design leaders of the Atelier Network meet regularly for an open exchange, enhancement of their competence and the collection of ideas. We develop strategies for projects and the design development of IB. We share one vision. This is what we call the Forum.

"If you believe in architecture, you have to participate in competitions. Competitions are an important way to continuously search for new solutions, innovative ideas, and sustainable strategies."

Lidor Gilad, Head of Design Switzerland

Student Competition UTOPIA

UTOPIA is a biennial ideas competition for architecture students, launched in 2022 to mark the centenary of Itten+Brechbühl. In partnership with the Swiss Architecture Museum (S AM), it serves as a platform for bold, socially engaged, and architecturally grounded visions that address the urgent questions of our time. Following the themes “Learning for the Future” (2022) and “LESS” (2024), the third edition will open in late February 2026.
