Lausanne station is to be renovated, and the new Cantonal Museum of Fine Arts is also being created nearby. A feasibility study was commissioned to work out how the connection between shops and offices could be reinforced when the site was restructured and redesigned. The public space is also to be expanded and inviting areas to be created. The study identifies on the one hand how the historic Rue de la Rasude can be revived. On the other, it creates a new direct connection between Place de la Gare and Avenue d'Ouchy which in turn will be developed with multi-storey commercial space. The feasibility study recommends developing the centre in stages.
