The Vortex, among the winners of the German Design Award 2023 category Excellent Architecture
The Vortex project in Chavannes-près-Renens has been awarded Gold status for the exceptional quality of its design.
Located in the immediate vicinity of the University of Lausanne, this residential building was designed to accommodate 1,000 students. It brings together an entire piece of the city in a single building.
With its circular shape and imposing scale, the Vortex is an integral part of the Lake Geneva landscape, becoming a landmark in the landscape towards which everything converges.
Its size marks out the territory and becomes a link between the city and its universities. Its flats, arranged along a spiral ramp, create a new type of cohabitation, offering a space for meeting and sharing.
