The design of the InnHub by Foster + Partners is a two-story innovation campus tailored to the local typology. It will be entirely built using local wood and will house conference and coworking spaces, hotel rooms and apartments, a sports area, a restaurant, a sports shop, and the new tourism office of La Punt. IB is responsible for the overall management and construction management, including local site supervision.

The InnHub La Punt will be an innovation campus and a place of creation, exchange, and transformation for locals, visitors, and businesses from all over the world. The architecture by Norman Foster, the commitment of the On company, and local partnerships give the project a visibility that extends far beyond the Engadine. Construction is scheduled to start in the spring of 2025, with the opening planned for the end of 2028.

For the municipality of La Punt Chamues-ch, the InnHub is an important milestone in its development. The InnHub will be open year-round, create around 50 jobs, and attract national and international tourists, athletes, and companies. Alongside the future projects of the municipality, such as the road bypass and the renaturation of the Chamuerabach stream, the InnHub will create a new center in the heart of the village, revitalizing the area.

On a total area of 7,700 square meters, the InnHub will offer workshop and classroom spaces, coworking workplaces, an auditorium with 250 seats, sports training facilities, a spa, a restaurant with a bar and lounge, a sports store, the tourism office, as well as 44 hotel rooms and 8 tourist-managed apartments. The two-story building was designed by the world-renowned architect Lord Norman Foster, who lives in the Engadine.

A Sustainable Heartfelt Project

Sustainability plays an important role in the construction and operation of the campus. Built from local wood, granite, and lime mortar, the InnHub is an example of sustainability and a circular economy, said architect Norman Foster in a video message. For him, the InnHub is a matter of the heart, as he has lived in the Engadine for many years.

For the initiators, who are financing the project, the InnHub La Punt is much more than just an investment. Making profits is not the main goal of the InnHub, said initiator Caspar Copetti, but the InnHub needs to be financially viable to have a sustainable impact on the region. All the initiators have been closely connected to La Punt and the Engadine for years and wanted to create a place that would bring new impulses to La Punt Chamues-ch and the valley.

Opening in December 2028

After the demolition of existing buildings in the spring, excavation and the underground access to the parking garage will take place by the summer of 2026. The building will be in shell form by mid-2027, and the interior construction will begin in mid-2027. The opening of the InnHub La Punt is planned for the end of 2028. Until the completion of the InnHub, the InnHub PopUp in La Punt will serve as a temporary workspace and event venue. It will be open to locals, holiday guests, and employees of various companies who wish to work in the Engadine and appreciate the combination of coworking, sports, and nature.
