Transformation Zug Commercial Education Center

Following a competitive planner selection process for the renovation of the Zug Commercial Education Center, Itten+Brechbühl AG (IB) has been commissioned to further develop the project. The jury particularly praised the team's in-depth analysis of the existing conditions and its careful approach to the existing building fabric.

The Zug Commercial Education Center opened in 2001. Since then, teaching and learning methods have evolved, bringing new requirements for how the building's spaces are used. The project responds with a three-zone approach that supports focused learning, collaboration, and social interaction. The building's existing strengths are preserved and enhanced, while the infrastructure is selectively upgraded to meet current needs.

Through targeted interventions, we are increasing spatial flexibility, further developing learning and common areas based on user needs, and integrating the outdoor spaces more closely into the overall campus.
