Tour Tilia Granted Building Permit
3XN + IB’s Tour Tilia project has obtained its building permit, with construction expected to commence in the first half of 2023. The scheme comprises an 85-meter-tall timber tower and the transformation of two pre-existing structures (an office building and a badminton hall) on the project site.
The project is located in Prilly-Malley, on Lausanne’s western edge, and is geared towards kickstarting sustainable growth and activity in the fast-growing area. Tilia itself will contain 221 housing units, a 96-room hotel, a co-living space with 64 units, office and commercial space, and parking for bike and car (with numerous EV charging stations.)
The entire scheme centers around ambitious sustainability and carbon goals and is targeting Minergie P, a Swiss sustainability certification.
3XN and IB have a history of strong collaboration, most notably on the IOC Headquarters which achieved both Minergie P and LEED v4 Platinum, the highest LEED score ever given. The two offices are currently collaborating on EPFL’s new Ecotope campus.
