Official Handover of Agroscope’s New Laboratory Building in Posieux

On August 14, 2026, the Canton of Fribourg officially handed over the keys to Agroscope’s new laboratory building in Posieux to the Swiss Confederation. The ceremony was attended by Swiss President Guy Parmelin, together with representatives of the Fribourg State Council, Agroscope, the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG), and the Federal Office for Buildings and Logistics (FOBL).

Designed by Danz Architektur, the project was delivered under the lead planning of IB. The new facility provides 11,000 square meters of space, including approximately 7,700 square meters of highly specialized laboratories and 3,300 square meters of advanced technical infrastructure supporting current and future agricultural research.

The building houses laboratories for chemical and biological analysis, a pilot dairy, and biotechnology facilities, creating a state-of-the-art environment for scientific research and innovation.

Our sincere thanks to the entire planning team, the contractors, and all project partners whose dedication and expertise made this achievement possible.
