Keen Interest in Transformation and Collaboration
On June 16, 2026, IB hosted an “Insights” event at the newly renovated Marie Colinet House at Inselspital Bern. The aim was to present the transformation project to partners in person—an ambitious undertaking that IB led from design through completion. As part of the renovation, three clinics were consolidated within the building. Numerous guests from design, construction, and the client side took the opportunity to see the result firsthand.
The event opened with remarks by Jürg Born, Head of the Bern office of IB, and Abel Müller-Hübenthal, Director of Real Estate and Operations at Insel Gruppe. Their comments underscored the project’s importance as an integrated, forward-looking step for Insel Gruppe, as well as the challenges involved.
Guided tours through the building were the centerpiece of the event. They clearly conveyed the complexity of the transformation: bringing the Women’s Hospital, Neonatology, and the Eye Clinic together under one roof; carefully aligning clinical workflows; and addressing the building’s high level of spatial and technical complexity.
Above all, the strong level of interest among participants was evident—both in the architectural solutions and in the interdisciplinary collaboration that was critical to delivering this demanding project. The event concluded with an informal reception, offering space for more in-depth discussions and personal exchange. We extend our thanks to all guests and project partners for their interest and trust.
