Festive Award Ceremony for Student Competition UTOPIA-LESS at S AM
We honored the authors who received prizes and awards for their submissions at yesterday's festive award ceremony for UTOPIA-LESS. We organized the 2nd edition of our student ideas competition in collaboration with S AM Swiss Architecture Museum, where the ceremony was held.
A clear trend was recognizable in the broad range of entries for this year’s topic LESS: future architects are moving away from the original concept of utopia in favor of a so-called pragmatopia – a fusion of pragmatism and utopia.
Another highlight of the successful evening was the panel discussion on 'LESS' featuring Friederike Kluge (alma maki & Countdown 2030, Basel), Leslie Majer (UT SOL, Zurich), and Jan Amundsen (3XN, Kopenhagen), moderated by Andreas Ruby.
The event concluded with a lively aperitif.
The winning and shortlisted projects are on display at S AM Swiss Architecture Museum until Sunday, September 15.
In 2025, we will announce the topic of the 3rd edition of UTOPIA.
