1st prize for the new Tronchenaz inter-municipal school complex in Villeneuve.
The project at the end of Lake Geneva harmoniously integrates the new school and sports complex into its scenic surroundings. The concept is based on a dialogue between existing and new buildings and focuses on sustainable architecture, energy efficiency, and the use of local materials.
Two volumes of the same size face each other along the edge of the forest, thus defining the space between the forest and the existing sports hall. A third, lower volume is positioned precisely in the centre and defines a public space that creates the interface to the various functions of the complex. At the heart of this composition, the existing hall will be remodelled and redefined so that it can be used for various functions, ranging from, sports to culture and events.
