The Double Deck project, which is reshaping the Esplanade and the Coupole at the heart of the EPFL campus, reached a decisive milestone in March 2026 with its symbolic groundbreaking ceremony. The event comes as the concrete works, launched in January 2026, already demonstrate the tangible progress of the future teaching hub.
Our project La ligne des toits has been awarded first prize and second place in the competition for the creation of the new Saint-Aubin school site. The site is defined by the strong presence of emblematic buildings such as the church, the castle, and historic farm structures. In response, the project adopts a restrained and carefully balanced approach that continues the character of the village fabric.

The renovation of the La Tourelle residential complex in Geneva was recently featured in Prestige Magazine. From 2018 to the end of 2024, Itten+Brechbühl SA has led the architectural design and planning for the renovation of 415 housing units at La Tourelle, a residential complex owned by the UBS (CH) Property Fund – Léman Residential “Foncipars.”
In 2024, a total of 65 public planning competitions were announced in the school building category. No architecture firm was more successful than Itten+Brechbühl (IB) in the overall competitionline ranking. This achievement is recognized by the architecture platform through an in-depth interview about IB’s approach to participating in competitions.
