Vortex wins 2020 Prix Bilan de l'immobilier in the «Mixed Residential Building» category
On Tuesday, September 15, Vortex was awarded 1st Prize in the 'Mixed Residential Building' category at the awards ceremony for the 9th Prix Bilan de l'immobilier 2020 held in Lausanne's Vaudoise Aréna.
The new Vortex student housing complex opened its doors this autumn to nearly 1,100 student residents and academic guests of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). Completion of the building at the end of 2019 was timed to coincide with the arrival in Lausanne of 1,800 young athletes who participated in the January 2020 Youth Olympic Games – marking the first time in the history of the games that an Olympic Village took the form of a single building. With the unanticipated onset of the Coronavirus pandemic a month later, rooms furnished for the young athletes were temporarily repurposed to accommodate medical personnel from abroad as well as members of the Swiss Civilian Service.
We are delighted and honored to have won this award for the Vortex project.
